Nope. Although we work with athletes, Mind and Muscle is built on the idea that performance isn’t limited to sport. Whether you’re navigating school, work, or everyday life, the same mental skills apply. Our services are designed for anyone looking to strengthen both their mindset and overall well-being.
Yes!
If you plan to use insurance benefits for therapy, please keep in mind that most insurance plans require a mental health diagnosis in order to cover services. Insurance companies may also limit coverage to treatment deemed “medically necessary,” which does not always include services such as performance-related psychotherapy. If you are seeking greater privacy, flexibility, or a more goal-oriented approach, I often recommend out-of-pocket services. This allows us to focus on your personal growth and goals rather than the limitations of insurance coverage. To help keep therapy accessible, I offer flexible sliding scale options and am happy to discuss rates that work for you.
We work with a range of insurance plans through Headway and Grow Therapy. You can find the most current list of accepted insurance providers on the Schedule an Appointment page under each platform. Since insurance coverage can change, it’s always a good idea to double-check directly on the platform. Do note that I am currently not accepting insurance coverage for couples/family therapy on the Headway and Grow Therapy platforms nor psychological evaluations/assessment services. Those services currently being offered on a self-pay basis at this time.
My out-of-pocket therapy rates are as follows:
Individual Therapy (1-on-1):
Intake session: $200
Subsequent sessions: $150
Couples/Family Therapy:
Intake session: $250
Subsequent sessions: $175
If you are using insurance for therapy:
Headway.co and GrowTherapy.com make it easy to verify the insurance plans I currently accept and what your estimated costs for services are. Ensure to check both platforms as I accept different carriers on each platform. Please verify periodically for updates as panels may change.
Both!
You can meet in person or connect via telehealth from the comfort of your home (pet cameos included 🐈 🐕).
For telehealth sessions, please make sure you are located in Florida at the time of your appointment and are in a private space (and wearing headphones) to ensure confidentiality.
If you are looking to be seen in-office and are booking your appointment through Headway or Grow Therapy, be sure to complete all required forms ahead of time.
Great question. At this time, services are limited to individuals who are physically located in the state of Florida. This applies to both in-person and telehealth sessions, as licensure laws require clients to be physically in the state during care.
If you are located outside of Florida, the best next step is to seek services from a provider licensed in your state.
If you are visiting Florida, you may receive services while you are physically in the state, even if you reside elsewhere. This applies to both in-person and telehealth appointments. Please note that in this particular case, services may be limited in scope if you are only in Florida temporarily, as ongoing care cannot continue once you leave the state.
The first therapy session is often referred to as the "Intake" session. It usually consists of addressing the presenting problem and gathering a detailed personal history. We will go over your intake paperwork provided to you prior to your sessions to ensure everything is correct and ask any additional questions in relation to your history and presenting issue. This allows us to collaborate and generate a treatment plan curated to the most pressing aspects of your life. In subsequent follow-up sessions, we will put it into action with therapeutic skills learned in session and worked on outside of therapy. Our clients find that the work done outside the therapy office makes all the difference.
